It&#8217;s old and has been in failing health lately, but it&#8217;s all mine and I love it.<\/p>\n<p>The car has gone through many revisions over the past couple of years, with different wheels, suspensions, and many other odds &amp; ends.  Here is what it looked like before I pulled it all apart:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/photos.phpwerx.net\/cars\/Legacy\/2007-04-01_Prodrive_P1\/800x600\/DSCF1210.JPG\" rel=\"lightbox\" title=\"Legacy 2007-04-01\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/photos.phpwerx.net\/cars\/Legacy\/2007-04-01_Prodrive_P1\/thumb\/DSCF1210.JPG\" alt=\"Legacy 2007-04-01\" height=\"100\" width=\"120\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/photos.phpwerx.net\/cars\/Legacy\/2007-04-01_Prodrive_P1\/800x600\/DSCF1212.JPG\" rel=\"lightbox\" title=\"DSCF1212.JPG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/photos.phpwerx.net\/cars\/Legacy\/2007-04-01_Prodrive_P1\/thumb\/DSCF1212.JPG\" alt=\"DSCF1212.JPG\" height=\"100\" width=\"120\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The suspension was shot, and the transmission was making some very disturbing noises&#8230;so I decided it was time for action.  The plan was to put in a fresh transmission and some new struts &amp; springs, a nice simple winter project.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, things didn&#8217;t go exactly as planned.  Once I had the car apart the mod-bug bit, and bit hard.<\/p>\n<p>After much deliberation and even more searching through classifieds I found just the thing, a complete 2005 WRX drivetrain, with a few upgrades for good measure.<\/p>\n<p>So, that brings us to the present time, here is how the car looks now:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/photos.phpwerx.net\/cars\/Legacy\/2008-01-08_05_WRX_Drivetrain\/800x600\/DSCF2108.JPG\" rel=\"lightbox\" title=\"Engine Bay 2008-01-08\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/photos.phpwerx.net\/cars\/Legacy\/2008-01-08_05_WRX_Drivetrain\/thumb\/DSCF2108.JPG\" alt=\"Engine Bay 2008-01-08\" height=\"100\" width=\"120\" \/><\/a>  <a href=\"http:\/\/photos.phpwerx.net\/cars\/Legacy\/2008-01-08_05_WRX_Drivetrain\/800x600\/DSCF2107.JPG\" rel=\"lightbox\" title=\"DSCF2107.JPG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/photos.phpwerx.net\/cars\/Legacy\/2008-01-08_05_WRX_Drivetrain\/thumb\/DSCF2107.JPG\" alt=\"DSCF2107.JPG\" height=\"100\" width=\"120\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And here is my crate of goodies, fresh from the shipping company:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/photos.phpwerx.net\/cars\/Legacy\/2008-01-08_05_WRX_Drivetrain\/800x600\/DSCF2100.JPG\" rel=\"lightbox\" title=\"DSCF2100.JPG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/photos.phpwerx.net\/cars\/Legacy\/2008-01-08_05_WRX_Drivetrain\/thumb\/DSCF2100.JPG\" alt=\"DSCF2100.JPG\" height=\"100\" width=\"120\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Over the next couple of months I will be merging together the 2 wiring harnesses and replacing virtually every mechanical component in the car.  Here is a quick list of the new parts:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2005 WRX engine, transmission, axles, diff, hubs, gauge cluster, cruise control, etc, etc<\/li>\n<li>Catless Uppipe, GPMoto downpipe, STi catback<\/li>\n<li>2004 WRX STi steering rack &amp; column, suspension, intercooler<\/li>\n<li>STi Group-N, Whiteline &amp; SuperPro suspension bushings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I am also planning to replace all the factory sound deadening, install JDM heated power folding mirrors, fix a couple of rust spots &amp; paint blemishes, the list goes on!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As some of you already know, I am the proud owner of a 1997 Subaru Legacy GT.
